Analyze the backlinks of your competitors using tools like Ahrefs. It'll give you a full backlink profile, and I'm sure there will be some free options.

First step is social media profiles to build "trust". Sites like FB/Twitter/LinkedIn/G+/Pinterest
Second you want to create Local Citations. Yelp/Angieslist/Google Mybusiness/HomeAdvisor/YellowPages/SuperPages

Make sure you have quality content and good on-page SEO on your site. Use some social signals and build some of the above mentioned links plus a handful of authority links and you should start seeing good results in the SERP's.

Make a list of your competitors websites. Insert those links into online tools such as Ahrefs or MajesticSEO, alternatively you could also use SemRush. Look and gather your competitors most important backlinks and replicate their backlink strategy. Make sure you have some kind of way to track on what progress you made gathering those same backlinks to your site, you could use a spreadheet for these purposes. Also gather your own backlinks, by googling your niche and look for sites that would allow you post a quality post in exchange for a backlink to your site (this is called guest posting). It works. Hope this helps.

Your first need to start with social media sites such as facebook, twitter, google+ and linkedin.
Second you will need to create citations on sites such as Angieslist, Google Mybusiness, HomeAdvisor, YellowPages, SuperPages, Yelp.
