Hi, First of all: I've never really been into link building. Until now, links came organically, and for some reason I had no issue getting backlinks. Now, as I'm trying to turn this hobby into a full-time job, link building is starting to look like the right thing to do -- but I need help. My main website makes a couple thousand dollars per month, with limited traffic (about 3k uniques per day). That's good, but obviously I need a lot more traffic if I want to make it to the next level. Organic traffic. Search engine traffic. According to Google, my website currently has about a thousand backlinks. That's not too good now is it... Yahoo site explorer shows 12,500. I'm in the fashion niche. Where do I start? Do I just randomly start e-mailing people? Is there a correct way of suggesting a link exchange? Do I go for reciprocal, or for 3-way links? Any experts willing to help me along the way as I (hopefully) move up the backlink count? Thanks! Jinx
Articles articles articles...they will build you incredibly strong backlinks and if good, each article will get picked up by other sites that generally have content related to your site's content. I write articles for my clients and in only a week they have already more than doubled in backlinks from other sites, proving a good article will go a long, long way in attracting more visitors to your site. Natural visitors is what will get your site ranking higher and higher with each page-rank update. Hope i helped. .
How does that start? I write an article, and then? I mean, we have tons of articles each day added to the website -- but we're talking article marketing here? I have to submit these articles to specific article sites? I'm new to this, I really am.
Theres easily about 500 article directories that are worth submitting to. and they are free.. you take an article put 2-3 links in it with anchor text and submit them. thats 1000-1500 backlinks right there.
For article marketing, try submitting to http://www.ezinearticles.com/ and use http://www.isnare.com/ for the other directories. Reciprocal links aren't as valuable as they used to be. 3waylinks are much better. Okay, sounds great -- is there a specific list of article directories I should include? Thanks in advance -- Giving this a go tonight!

i've submitted articles before.. i don;t know if they work.. but they got 190 hits in ezines... but my little question is do people read them? personally i wouldn;t have the time... but i can see why they get good backlinks
Is manual link exchange the only way to get targeted sites to link to your site. I have been doing it for alwhile and it takes a real long time to find each site write an email is there any other services that help with automation other than link metro?
There are many! My favorite is LinkMachine which will find sites, send emails, maintain the link directory etc. Read the full review and details of other software/services at http://www.linkexchangeresources.com/software.php
