Hi all, I have a new website that I am about to start seo for. As the domain is new how many links would you recommend getting on a weekly basis, so not to upset the search engines. Thanks
It would depend on Your nice, how many You can get weekly, and if You more or less can keep it up at a simular level in the future. It's no good to get 500 links the first week, and then drop down to 10 the text two weeks, and after that just a link now and then.
have you looked the http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=224828 (the sticky thread on this forum) ? if not, i strongly suggest you to read it
I agree. It takes some time to get your website approved so even if you submit to 500 directories it will take 2-3 months to be approved just by half of them.
Yeah, unless you're doing some funky blackhat link spamming, I wouldn't worry about it. Try to get as many as you can. The key is to keep at it, and not just have one burst and then quit.
If youre new to link building, you can go over this link building guide for some good tips. As far as the number of links for your site is concerned, you can start with a steady and d-able number, of around 5 - 10 links in a day. This can be easily achieved by a few directory submissions, and a few blog comments, forum posts etc.
as a new website, dnot get too much backlinks especial keywords anchor links.but if only target msn and yahoo,it's ok/
If they are one-way,the sky is the limit ... you'll never be penalised for one-way links. If you do reciprocals, do a maximum of 70/day (you wont have 100% approvals) and check to see if the partners are indexed.
Well you can get as manner as you want as long as it looks natural. Think linkbait on social voting websites. Some sites get over 1,000 links in a week through linkbaits and they are doing fine
