link building for a gaming forum

    i have a gaming forum and i need some tips on how to build up my links on other sites. it is already a pr3 but for the next update im hoping for a pr4 or pr5, where should a forum like this be advertisied to build up the link? what kind of places should i place my links? i have submitted to hundreds of directories but is that really helping my links? im looking for free methods to build up backlinks, no money to spend on this right now

    tips, thoughts, comments appreciated

    Try emailing owners of other related gaming forums and doing article submissions around your topic.
