Ok there are so many topics which seem like this but i coldnt find a proper answer for my quetion. So i am posting this

I am having a website with page rank 1. Got PR within 1 month of launch. I decided to get some back links and decided to hire an seo company. they have 2 packages

1.750SEO Submissions-10 unique title & Description 75 Submissions every 15 days for 3.5 months.,500 Article Submission with 5 unique article creation for every 100 Submission. 100 Submission every week for 1.5 month,500 Social Bookmarking four times in 2 months, dmoz submission, search engine submission, free featured listings on 1 PR4 and 1 PR 3 directory.299$

2.SEO-Friendly 2500 Directory Submission Service 250 Manual Directory Submit every 10 days 100 Days ,1000 SEO Friendly Article Submission Service with 10 free Unique Article writing - 70 Days,500 Social Bookmarking four times in 2 months,500 Guaranteed and Permanent One-way links from High PR Directories: Slow 70 Days ,20 Original Blog Review 30 Days on review only blogs, dmoz submission, search engine submission, free featured listings on 1 PR4 and 1 PR 3 directory.799$

I am really confused which to go for. My site deals with website designing, work at home jobs. Updates some times regularly, sometimes 2-3 weeks and so on. Have some products to sell also. Mostly affiliate products. 2 of of my own also.

Please advice which to go? Or should i go for only article writing and bookmarking alone? Anything in the package i must avoid?

Only an idiot would advise you on how to spend your money on these linking schemes (and they are schemes) without knowing who the company is that is providing the service. There will undoubtedly be a rash of 'opinions' pop up following my post from people who do not care about your money, and just want to give you their two cents worth. And that is all that advise would be worth, because the answers will say #1 or #2. You would be better off setting this up as a Poll.

I can tell you for the cost of the directory submission, $799, you can buy the software they are using for under $100 and you will save yourself several hundred dollars.

My advice is not to do any of them. Work the links yourself. I am sure if you start getting a few sites out there, you can sneak your link into them via a credit link. Also, promote yourself in forums and show them samples of your work. Remember, search engines are not the only avenue of traffic.

The company i am talking about is www.submitedge.com
    my website is www.webmaniaxs.com
The wsay they manually submit to directories
799$ is including article writing directory submission bookmarking etc

So should i build link myself? Is that a a better option? can you suggest some directories in which i should buy paid links then

First, thoroughly check the companies web site in various search engines and verify their traffic. Lots of these companies promise great seo for your site but their own site does not show up any where in SERP. You will be wondering "why?"

They have had good reviews. They come up first for some very competitive keywords and are PR3 website. So if the company is trustworthy should i go in or not?

How many say i should do slow link building?

There are going to be some trustworthy SEM providers and some terrible ones. Most of them use a combination of software and super cheap labor to automate directory submission, article submission to free article sites, social bookmarking, etc. This doesn't necessarily mean they are all crap, but it does mean you can do a lot of that yourself, and you should contact each provider to get full details of how they are marketing your site.

Dodger's post was a bit rash towards paid link building services, but there is a lot of merit to this point of view as well. The essence of great link building is to create something that gets people to link to you naturally. This isn't just "linkbaiting" - it's offering something awesome that people want to link to.

If you can do that - provide a free tool, product, really kickass article, or something else that people will find useful and be proud to share with their network and link to from their blog, you will capture many more links than with any paid service.

Personally, I would rather spend $300-800 promoting my products with direct ads, PPC or hiring some good programmers/authors to create content and products that naturally attract the links.

Tekime, I was rash because generally you see a lot of topics regarding this type of link building. You are correct in that most of them are cheap labor or automated submissions.

The company website in question looks good on the surface. They are in the SEMPO directory, although SEMPO is not an accreditation organization, and SEMPO explicitly discloses that fact. They do push the directory submissions fairly heavy, which takes me aback a bit. Even their DMOZ service does not guarantee a listing, but at least they disclose that near the bottom of their spiel. On the whole, and not knowing their history, I would say that they are fairly ethical in what they do. I do not see any blatant over-hyping of their services, per se.

One problem with evaluating firms of this type is that there is no metric to gauge them by. They can have all the testimonial in the world, but what are they using to actually measure that success with. Stuff is all relative too. My big is your medium. Someone's medium is another's small.

Here is the big sticking point. All linking schemes are getting slowly and surely devalued. We saw it with doorways, redirects, and reciprocal linking. Now Google is devaluing old domain name flipping, attacking blog commenting, and now (undocumented) directories are losing their luster. There is a moral in all of this, what works today will not reap you anything tomorrow. Google will keep refining their technique to filter out the noise.

This is not to say that there cannot be any value in this approach. On the contrary, if the scheme still works and you need to get up to snuff in a quick manner ... yeah, do it. But you need to realize that it is only a short-term gig. You had better have a long-term plan running on the back burner to sustain yourself in years to come, because those links that you rented or bought will disappear.

Do what you can yourself. There are some great link building companies but you do need to spend time checking them out. Quality of service should precede price in your decision of hiring an seo company. Also, (i have not looked at your site yet) make sure your site is seo friendly.

Remember to do some deep link building, build naturally, engage in forum discussions. give attention to quality articles with link back to your site, blogroll exchanges and high quality directories.

Some are even going further with creating profiles on several social type of sites and interlinking them. For instance Profile 1 on Squidoo links to a different profile you have a Active Rain and that links to a different profile on Digital Point which has your signature link to your site. Now, I have not really tested this but it is mentioned online by a heavy hitter in the industry. Just 1 more tactic.

    Addendum to my previous post.

SubmitEdge, according to Yahoo Site Explorer has over 570,000 inbound links. With that many links, they only garner a PR3 from Google. Google records rougly 1200 links. Not bad for a public result list of links.

I have to ask one question. How many links do you have to buy from this firm to get you to a PR4 though? And what will it cost you?

If a half-a-million only gets you PR3, is it really worth it? Not that PR has anything to do with SERPs, but it does show you the value of those links considering how many of them there are.

If you are selling Real Estate, Financial, Annuities, Forex, etc.. big money stuff than sure it might be worth it.

It depends on your motive and needs and the cost.

@renet - that is the crux of this conversation. What you are selling may determine your course of action.

In the case of Coolamazer, he is a Web Designer and dabbles in Work at Home. The Work at Home is highly competitive and may warrant some extreme measures. The Web Designer aspect, as I know it, is that your work will speak for itself.

Either way it is a short-term gambit. If you need an influx of links to create a buzz, as in your stock&trade example, then yes you will pay out the bucks to get the word out quickly. In my opinion, that is no different than Advertising. You can have far better results with AdWords, and guarantee that you are seen at the top of the results.

I have just a slightly but similar view on hiring someone else to do what you can do for yourself. What you gain in speed by hiring someone else you lose in quality (almost always) but even more important in my eyes is you don't learn to do it yourself (obviously). I have gone the route of paying to have seo done and am now doing it myself. Doing it yourself allows you to control who, what, where, when and why? Farming it out to some seo group that may be quite reputable, and may not be, is risky not only in the sense of what they do to your site but also in what you don't learn to do.
I can't really comment on what to do about door no. 1 or door no. 2 as I don't know enough about who they are and honestly I dont' really trust testimonials as how do you really know that the testimonial is legit? I dont think the advice you may get is even worth 2 cents but what you paid for it. Learn to do it yourself and then you can judge for yourself whether there is any value in the two offers.
