Link Building Before the launch of a site?

Hi,

I was wondering if I had a 1 page holding page, in place before the launch of a website - would be ok to build links through directory submissions, or would the directories decline the site?

Alternatively, what if I had the site redirecting to another, unrelated domain and build links to the redirected site?

What would you suggest or would you say, just wait?

All the good directories would reject your submission so it won't work.

 

Most dirs don't accept under construction sites so i see your strategy waste of effort and time ...

 

I agree with the two above posters. I would try to open your doors before submitting to directories.

 

Jus put some content on the page, maybe 1 article talking about the business but SEO before launch can make things a whole lot easier. Google will craw your site more frequently etc, etc.
plus don't submit to directories, the number1 no, no, let them comed and find you....

 

well honestly, it won't help u get good links if u starts promoting such site. Good directories will anyway decline it.

Why not wait until the site is completed?

 

most of the directories will reject it. you have to have some content before you start building links, just wait until you are done
