Itâ€™s time to go over one-way links and reciprocal linking. I hope this article clears up any misconceptions and also helps you to better understand the overall search engine optimization process.

One-way links are the most important factor for achieving a high ranking position within the search engines. One-way links are important because it is showing the search engines that a site linked to you but you didnâ€™t link back to them, odds are when this happens, the site that linked to you had a genuine interest in your site.

Reciprocal links are helpful but usually not important. If you are trading links with someone whos site is related to your own, that is when they become important and more helpful than usual. Generally, reciprocal links are not worth the effort anymore, Google tweaked itâ€™s algorithm a few years ago to make it not worth it.
