Hi folks This is my very first post so be gentle. I own a heating company in the uk, and early on i realised that by harnessing the power of the web i could gain an advantage over my competitors. I know the basics of seo etc and know my way around (kind of) dreamweaver. My website ranks really well for the majority of keywords and it brings in good business, but i now want to take it to teh next level, i have done very little link building, i have a list of 15 keywords that i am not in the top 10 for, all of which are uncompetitive i.e "boiler service sunderland" "gas engineer northumberland" and such like. My plan is once i have all my desired keywords in the top 10 to start working on those that are not top 5, like i say most arent very competitive. I have started using majestic seo which is pretty good, and have started sending link exchange requests, but am fining it hard to get any sort of response. I am happy to pay, but at the same time dont want to pay a fortune, i noticed a member on here had a blog posting service which i have emailed for details, can anyone offer any tips, services or anything else in order to get these words ranked, i have a blog attached to my site also. Thanks guys. Dave
I wouldn't send out bulk requests for reciprocal links via a software package. That is a quick way to get in the penalty box with google. Instead, since you're trying to rank high for local terms you should look for people in your community who have something in common with your site. Contact them directly (via telephone rather than email if possible). Tell them why a link to your site would be valuable to their visitors. Some other things you might want to do is make sure your on site optimization is correct (page titles, page descriptions, H1 tags, etc.). If you haven't read this already here's Google's basic seo guide. http://static.googleusercontent.com/external_content/untrusted_dlcp/www.google.com/en/us/webmasters/docs/search-engine-optimization-starter-guide.pdf After you've done some on page seo then start some more link building using niche web directories, forum posts (in forums related to your industry), blog posts, social networking, etc. It won't take much for your site to rank high for keywords in your local area.
You could try mix link building packages that includes forums, articles, press releases. So you will able to reach top positions in Google.
I'm nervous about using any link building package. But doing quality posts on forums such as this is one way, for example.
Bulk reciprocal links is not the answer. A good links page or resource page that lists relevant sites that may be of interest to your visitors, customers and clients. Reciprocal linking still works when done correctly.
I think the best way to build link is to do it personally, i have outsourced link building in the past the result was not satisfactory. Link exchange works for me best but you need to have a few sites to be able to do successful link trade.
1. On Focus with your product or service 2. The website’s home page has higher PR 3. There are less that 50 links 4. There are no ‘No Follow’ Tags on the links 5. There is no javascript redirect on the link 6. The link is not redirected
