    I would NOT advise people to buy links in Paid Directories.

    One of my competitors for the term "Sacramento Weddings" & "Sacramento DJs" purchased dozens of paid links.

    Many of these sites turned out to be "bad neighborhoods" in Google's eyes.

    Now, his site has a ZERO PAGE RANK. (PR = 0)

    Based on his experience --- I only submit to FREE directories, and only the ones with good PR architecture and the non-spammy ones with relevant categories.

    AMMAZZINNG kudos to the creator of the rap... i was going to create a rap for link builders using "If I had a millionare dollars".. but never ended up happening thanks for sharing!

    Maybe they just weren't smart about their purchases ;)
    I've gotten plenty of links in paid dir's and all sites have been fine.
    Get related link and you never have to worry about the google slap
