Hi pals, I am novice to SEO world. I heard from someone that link baiting is a effective technique to improve search engine ranking . How can we apply link baiting for blogs? Thanks in advance.
Hey there, According to wikipedia, link bait is any content or feature within a website that somehow baits viewers to place links to it from other websites. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Link_bait So how do people implement this? I am interested in learning more about this as well. Sincerely, Travis Walters
By nature, a well written blog should be link bait itself. People will link to pages they think are useful, entertaining or informative in some way and in theory, if you're writing a blog for SEO purposes, each post should be linkbait. The art of linkbait is in the hook. You want to write something that will hook people in. The Wikipedia entry gives some OK examples of different hooks, but for example, a linkbait title should be something that a user will immediately find enticing ("Top 10 SEO Salary Killers"), shocking ("Hardcore SEO Photos") or completely unconventional ("Baboons: The Hot New Pet of SEO Millionaires!")... On a blog, a good hook should encourage discussion/comments because if people are commenting on your post, they have a vested interest in seeing other people's responses. In a sense, that's linkbait too . Here's a good starter on Linkbait from Matt Cutts: http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/seo-advice-linkbait-and-linkbaiting/
A post that people like so much they will link to you from their own site. Thats the basic description In practise things like top 10 lists, Interviews, Guest posts might help to create link bait. Hope this helps
Link bait is content on your site to which other sites link because they want to, not because you ask them to. Links are hard to get, requiring you more effort (and at least link back). But with link bait, you "bait" your content and sit back and wait. Here is www dot famousagents dot com/link-bait-success --> about Link Baiting Technique.. Just replace the dot with period....
