don't set a color, let the CSS of the people who will use it handle that. As for size I don't know, 6 or 8 px depending on the size of the widget

    I think:
    a. most of the high-quality links will not remove the code.
    b. if you put the link in a php include, or make it a little more complicated than deleting an <a href> tag, 50% of those who would delete the code won't take the time to delete the code.

I don't know that much about php, but if I put the link in a php include than would that link be counted as a backlink?

I thought it would be similar to a javascript generated link, which would not be seen as a backlink by G and friends.

php links are seen by spiders because they are parsed before displaying them.

I went live with my new tool.

The tool allows you to create social bookmarks for you page so that visitors will have an easier time bookmarking your page, which should get you some extra traffic.

I'm told that the tool isn't exactly new, but I think it is simpler to use and understand than others I've seen.

    Here it is: http://directory.proud-collector.com/social_bookmark_tool.aspx

    Please comment.

Very good tool I might be using it.

Could you pre-include text-decoration and color attributes for backlink in the text style? If it's underlined blue some webmasters will remove it but if they can configure it to match their site with less effort they probably won't.

If you mean like AdSense allows you to change colors, than I will do that. Or, were you thinking about something else?

a good approach would be not including the option when you reach the page
but after pressing "generate html code" you could see the option so if someone cares to change backlink color and style (underline or not underline) he can change it.

I added color control for the link back, but it is implemented in a slightly different way than you mention.

I just tried socializer, but I think it has four disadvantages. Correct me if I'm wrong about these, I just want to make my tool as good as I can. :)

    1) It relies on the visitor having javascript turned on. Probably not a huge disadvantage because most visitors will have it on, but some may not.

    My tool is 100% HTML.

    2) Socializer forces you to go to their page first and then to the social boomark websites. This means that your visitors are two websites removed from your webpage.

My tool displays social bookmarks directly on your website and when you click on a link a visitor is only one page removed from your website.

    3) (This one I'm not 100% sure about) Socializer can only be used once on your page, which means if you have several blogs on a single page you might be out of luck.

My tool allows you to create and use infinite social bookmark link blocks on your webpage, because it is 100% HTML. This means you can set up different social bookmarks for each blog on the same page.

    4) Socializer is not very prominent on the screen, it is easy to miss.

My tool is very visible because it shows a bunch of good looking icon links.

Well first of all if the tool is good enough you will get links without asking for them but if you want to make sure they keep it on make another feature to your tool that checks to make sure they are linking back and if they aren't their account or whatever is susspended.

Again if the tool is good it won't need any of that. It will gather links by the millions without requests.

Send me a PM and I will review it for you when it is ready.

Forgive me if you already explained this in previous posts(I am getting lazy tonight) but please explain what exactly this tool will do and what it has that other tools don't.

Just noticed your other post (duh)
There are many plugins that do this so I am not sure it will be really hot and it isn't really the win all link bait tool as few use it. But good luck with it.

I guess I don't understand why few would use it, or something like it. It seems to me that if somebody writes a really good blog and makes it easy for the reader to bookmark it socially, that would be good for the blogger and the visitor.

Why wouldn't many people use it?

Well maybe I should reword that. It is possible that many would use it however there are plugins that do this. It is a neat idea and really easy to use so that is a plus that good gather people. I just thought there were alot of sites like this and plugins and such. Anyways Good luck with it.

I checked out your tool and I might even use it if I hadn't a plugin that already generates those for every article on my site. BUT one of the things my tool does better (despite having less social bookmarks) is the fact that it puts a nofollow with each of those links. Why should I add 24 outgoing links to each article (25 with your link).
So maybe you should change the code to put nofollows in (except for your link of course).

I was going to suggest a nofollow for bookmarks. It will be a nice addition.

Also, don't think about blogs. Of course there are plugins for blogs, but for simple pages this can be a quick add-on.

I just had a really good idea how you can prevent people from deleting your backlink:

-Make it look like one of those social bookmarks and hide it somewhere in the middle of the others (and of course don't use nofollow).
-If you really want to make it perfect, start your own social bookmark service on your site and from there link back to your main site.

If enough users use your tool this could really fly and become big.

    good idea andre75

starting a social bookmark inside your site would be the best way
also, make every link nofollow except yours =P
