Looking for feedback from people on good link building architecture.

Is there any point in building links to pages that link to your site, or should you just build those links directly to your site?

For me, it depends on the quality of the link and whether you can automate the link building process. Good quality links should point directly to your site otherwise there will be dilution of the link juice if it passes through another site. However, some people build lots of low quality links en masse using software like SENuke and point them to a hub which links to the main site, which is probably safer than pointing them directly to your site.
