So how do you guys explain the fact that Google bombing works and The White House is #1 in Google for "failure" after a group of sites linked to it?
This tread is funny: http://www.threadwatch.org/node/3248 it seems that @ WMW they also did a thread about adsense tips.. Dominic posted a great reply to that.. Is there a battle comming up between WMW and DP?
Google bombing works in the right instances, but it's worth pointing out that those instances are little accessible to most webmasters. Political Googlebombing is usually orchestrated among very large numbers of blogs, which is a network that proven to be more vast and powerful than most resources and techniques at the hands of many SEO's (cf Nigritude Ultramarine and Anil Dash, if you're not certain). It's also worth pointing out that Google have made public comment about humouring political statements Googlebombed in their index, but take a more dim view of where it may be used for commercial purposes. Overall, the point raised is that varying anchor text is good, not simply to challenge the developing application of semantic processing technology, but also to help net wider targeted traffic for your site. For most general webmasters, I would very much suggest that focusing volume link building on only a very narrow range of keywords, is going to be self-crippling.
