Hi there, I'm considering buying links from Link Adage and textlinkbrokers.com that are relevant to my site's content and are PR 6 or above. I was led to believe that the 2 suppliers mentioned above are reputable, but I'm a little concerned that I could get my site penalized for buying links. If I'm buying from a well known broker & only very relevant links surely this will be ok? The main objective is to raise our PR but also to generate traffic & enquiries. Thanks for your time.
I think the idea of being penalized for buying links is a little blown out of proportion. All a link is, is an advertisement. You cant be penalized for advertising on someone's site. Google has stated several times that you cant be penalized for people linking to you. Otherwise your competitors could go and purchase links to your site and kill it. What will happen is that you are throwing your money away because the links have no real value, either in link popularity or in traffic potential. I have gotten some great traffic from links from textlinkbrokers.com and textlinkads.com. Not so much anymore from linkadage. Also, google is pretty good at not giving credit for bought links, so if the links do not provide traffic, they are essentially worthless. Linkadage is a reputable place to buy links, but I think that the links themselves are of lower quality than the other mentioned places.
Thanks Jestep, The Company I work for are a part of a large global corporation and we are not allowed to offer reciprocal links. I'm launching a link to us page & affiliate scheme in the next couple of months which should help. I'm confused by your 2nd & 3rd paragraphs, you say I'll be throwing my money away but then you say you received some great traffic from TL Brokers yourself. So, should I buy high PR links for textlinkbrokers.com - or am I still wasting my money? Thanks in advance, -N
I've worked with the owner of LinkAdage before, he's a good guy. Remember, though, that it's a marketplace and you're not buying directly from the owner you're dealing with other individuals. The feedback system is a good indicator of the integrity of the parties you deal with. The search engines would certainly like you to believe that buying links will not help you in the serps. Perhaps some day they will truly be able to distinguish between paid links and non paid links. I don't know how, though. The best strategy, in my opinion, is to not have PageRank as your primary goal. Focus more on links from on-topic sites with good traffic. It's more likely that a well positioned link from a strong website on a similar topic wll not only give you traffic by direct clicks, but be more likely to increase your serps too.
