    For now in terms of records Messi is ahead of C.Ronaldo..
    In terms of skills the both are even.
    Both of them have some spectacular goals.
    Both of them have won Champions league. Record of Messi is fantabulous so as of C.ronaldo in Man.U...
    Both of them are awarded as world best players by FIFA.
    Right now Messi is in good touch which is good for Barcelona F.C. But i must say that playing for a club for 5 yrs or more is easy than to cope up with a new club in a new country.
    Cristiano will come back again wait for that.

    Messi is the best for me as well... but he was a real disappointer in the last world cup. He just could not display... even 10% of his real potential... but then he was not alone as many reputed stars failed along with him on the bigger stage! :(

    I'll go for Messi because he's an all-around guy. He's like the Kevin Garnett of football. Ronaldo, on the other hand,is just lookng to score. I thought he would do well in the recently concluded 2010 World Cup, sad to say he didn't meet up to most of the expectations.

    I'm just surprised to see a thread like this here. I thought there were mostly americans, and they usually like to play fotball with their hands, for some reason.

    So who's best. Hard to say really. It probably depends on how you mean. For example, would Messi play just as well outside of Barcelona? Probably not, like he has shown many times playing for Argentina. He wouldn't be bad, but probably not amazing without his little buddies. Ronaldo on the other hand could probably carry a team more than Messi. He is stronger and more physical as a player and has been great both in England and Spain.

    However as it is now, I guess Messi has been better, at least this season.

    Other than that I just think that there are some huge problems in La Liga. I mean it's ridiculous to have to teams that compete for the title and take 50% of all the Tv-money.
