Limited for Donations Button

Hi guys, I've been scouring google all day and this seems like the place with the most helpful answers.

I'm a Peace Corps Volunteer in West Java, Indonesia, and I had my Indonesian counterpart set up a paypal account to raise money for our school library. We collected our money (just over $500) just fine, but today we were limited and asked for non-profit credentials. From reading around, it seems I may have made a mistake in using the "Donate" button on my blog for this cause, as I didn't realize I HAD to be a non-profit to use it.

Such a minor error, but from other people's stories it doesn't seem likely I'll get this resolved in less than 180 days. So, our options are to hope the folks at Paypal have good hearts and common sense (not likely), or immediately start kicking out refunds to the 7 people who donated and finding an alternate method. The last option is what I'm leaning towards, but are there any possible roadblocks I should expect on paypal's end if that's what I do? Also, if I am able to issue refunds, could they have any grounds for coming back for money on my Indonesian counterpart later, or will they just let the account die?

I can tell you, folks at Paypal DO NOT have good hearts and common sense. Sometimes it seems to me the whole point of their work is to find a reason to limit your account and hold your funds for 180 days.
