Suggestion Limitation of links in signature

Hi,

In recent past DP has lowered the limit of links (to 2) in signature for free members but 4 for premium members. This would have definitely increased the revenue for DP but on the other hand hurt those members who have been contributing (voluntary answering questions) to DP since a long time. Would it be possible to increase links limit to those members who have lets say 500+/1000+ posts? This will be gesture of thanks to those members.

 

Do you think a member having more than 1000 posts is going to spam? And if you are concerned about DP's SEO's perspective then why are you allowing 2 links?

 

What about people having 2 links, don't they spam?

 

suppose we say after 2500 posts you get an additional link.
what happens next is everybody is posting crap just to get to the number.
no thanks, i got enough crap to delete now, don't need extra.

Take away signatures even if 2 links are causing spam.

This thread changed how I see him, with added respect.

As it seems to me, the truth is that having people pay to get 2 extra links in their sig (amongst other things) is an obvious trade off.

They are awarded increased privileges because they have an increased investment in not getting their accounts banned for breaking the rules.

But you ask, isn't increased postcount increased investment as well?

Yes and no.

Yes, in reality time is money and the more spent, the more the figurative investment is.

No, because people usually don't value their time as much as they value money, and so in practicality, they are less likely to be influenced by the factor of postcount to do poorly.

All of this is basically an elaboration on the various points mentioned by the staff.

I think I have seen some few (with a lot of posts) that had in their signapture 2 different links and one DP link (that redirects to a thread)
Is that possible, or I have seen it worng?

Sorry if I sound like an idiot, but that means we can have 4 links to threads + 2 external links? (Total 6) if we wanted?
