Limit to Adsense ads?

Discussion in 'Guidelines / Compliance' started by nevetS, Mar 8, 2005.

I'm thinking about adsense on a blog. Ideally, I'd like to have adsense ads in the footer of each entry on my index page, but that might mean 10 blocks of ads on a single page.

I thought there was a limit of like 4 adsense blocks on a single page, but I'm not sure. Does anybody know?

    Just thinking here about design.

One thing to point out is that with the "Adsense for Search" enabled instead of the free version, any pages you have that are "supplemental results" in google's db are ignored.

With the free version you actually get a better site search.

Speaking of Adsense Ads, I'm thinking about changing my Amazon affiliete ads to text ads.. I think they would generate more click and be more effective. Is this OK if you have adsense ads on the same pages. Google says the allow affiliate and limited-text ads, but that disallow ads meant to look like theirs... Any feedback???

I think that because its not 'contextual advertising' in the way that Adsense is it should be ok, but email Google first to check

If you're using blogger or something similar and place the ad code in each post, it will only show a max of 3 ads. I placed mine before the content (and one along the top)Check my blog if you want to see how it's working.

You cant bypass the TOS. Only 3 ads per page or 2 ads+search. If you violate you could get banned. I doubt you make much off adsense anyway, and adding the extra ads will probably annoy the few readers you have, clownboy.

You can't post more than 3 blocks of ad code on one page. It's impossible. Google will display three blocks in total and if it sees a fourth it simply doesn't display it.

    Direct from the adsense blog:

    3 ad units

    2 AdSense for search boxes

    1 link unit

1 referral button per product (i.e., 1 AdSense referral button and 1 Firefox plus Google Toolbar referral button).
