Limit on <A TITLE="">??

I have a quick question. If I have a URL... is there a limit on the size of the title I can use?

<a href="www.mysite.com" title="super long message here about the site and all the information there. It can go on for 2-3 sentences sometimes">

The reason I ask is... I own a forum. One of the features is turning this feature on so members can mouse-over a forum title to read the first sentence or two from the post. I was thinking... this not only helps users find posts more quickly... but can this also help SE's give each page better rank for having keywords in that title? I'd be concerned though that the SE's may think this use of the title tag in anchor text is a way to spam and lower our rankings.

What do you guys think? I'd say it's great for members, and probably helpful for search engines to some extent. 2-3 sentences in the title tag isn't really the correct way to use the title tag though.

In theory there is no limit. Another thing is a sense of stuffing that tag with a text ;-)

As far as I know, title attributes in the anchor tag is not a SEO factor SEs look into to rank a site. They're there for user-accessibility purposes only. maybe it does hold some weight but I really don't think so. my opinion anyway.

It doesn't matter if it's keyword or not. Like redQueen said, this tag has not any SEO purpose - we're talking about an url, not an img tag.
