WARNING LONG READ!! BUT IT WILL BE WELL WORTH IT TO THE PERSON THAT ATTEMPTS TO JUMP ON THIS OPPORTUNITY!!! Please read in depth below... oK, i''ll be honest I'm not sure exactly how to set this contest off, but heres the situation.... I am looking to build a relationship with a designer/coder/ jack of all trades type person. I have just set up a vbulletin and plan on starting with building a community. The community will be geared towards rap/hip hop only so if you love music then it will just make the relationship that much better. Now this market is obviously pretty well flooded, but I have alot of connections and outlets and I feel I can get it off the ground with the help of a great designer/coder. I do not want a generic or beginner designer as I have people that can supply that to me free, what I need is some one with cutting edge graphics and a very creative mind and hopefully love for hip hop...A huge part of my site will rely on appearance I do not want to be like or look like your average every day forum. I want to keep it updated with the hottest upgrades and newest additions as frequently as possible. This is where the "contest/you" comes in.... This is a ground up project so there really can be no set price as I will continue to want to add things and upgrade I don't want to go to random people each time I have a new job I would like to build a relationship and stick with one person that can be reliable as well as reasonable in understanding that it is just starting and not generating any income. Trust me I have no problem paying all I ask is that you look at it from a scratch my back I'll scratch yours type attitude and not treat it as a here today gone tomorrow transaction. This is a very brandable name and I have it pretty well thought out, I just need some one to help take my ideas and thoughts and turn them into reality.... Know one thing, failure is not an option when it comes to working with me I am very business minded person and dont accept anything but the best. And I would love to find and work with some one of the same mentality. It could be a great relationship and benefit every one involved. So here we go...the hunt for that special some one... Heres where we will start.... I think one of the biggest things is going to be the LOGO as this will be going on shirts, cd's, mixtapes, numerous promotional items etc etc...So this is VERY important to me and will have to be perfect!! The winner of the logo design in a sense will be the person that I would like to build the relationship with, so if your looking for a one time transaction please do not enter. Once I pick the winner of the logo design we will need to shortly after start working on a custom skin for the forum as well as a home page, some banners etc. Trust me I will keep you busy and will continue to bring you more and more business not just from me, but from many people I am affiliated with, you take care of me and ill take care of you that's my word.... The logo... In the end the color scheme and theme of the whole site will be black, white, and a variation of greens. So for the logo you can go ahead and keep that color scheme or if you would like to just keep it simple black on white and white on black that is fine we can always alter or detail it with green later...your choice... MY VISION: I would love to see some one that could design a custom character kind of like a face to my brand i.e. The name of the site will be HIP HOP ADDICTS so maybe some lil devilish character with an addicted to hip hop type look maybe holding a microphone with a boom box on the floor, who knows that could be played with...but the main thing will be "HIP HOP ADDICTS" that needs to be displayed in BIG BOLD letters...I want you to be able to see/read it a mile away....and our slogan is "Feed Your Addiction" so it would be nice to incorporate that some how as well... I have not mentioned money because I feel money should not be the main outlook it is more me finding that person, you will be compensated for your work trust me....money is not my main concern its quality... Think of the "logo" as your way of showing your worth to me as a designer/coder the more you put into the logo obviously the more I will see your compassion and interest in wanting to be a part of my mission. ok, quick update... I have been getting PM's and it seems that maybe that a "jake of all trades" is maybe harder to come by then I think...as I have been getting people interested, but they either do design OR coding... So I would like to maybe open this contest to ANYONE but when you supply links to your portfolio or if you decide to take a crack at the logo that I mentioned above.... Please make a post and state wether you are strictly designs or if you do both as I may try and make it a team effort instead of just one person I may pick a person for coding and then some one for all the design work... So please post a link to your work or take a crack at the logo, PM's are fine you can continue to PM me, but please post here as well so that other people can see the thread and it doesnt end up over looked... thanks again to the people that have shown interest...I am really looking forward to working with a few talented people...
