Youtube and Meebo uses Lighttpd as their webserver. Apache is generally used as a general web server. What would be the best web server for serving up web server applications like Zelune/Cgi Proxy/ Surrogafier?

I use Apache 2.2.4 for proxy hosting at www.cloakhost.com

I know many people like and use lighty for proxies but it's still not robust for dynamic content and with php fastcgi, it crashes bad often! Lighty is great for static files though and that's what for the biggies use lighty for... ;)

Not that I prefer lighttpd, but it never crashed on me with php. It's a good web server.

Maybe for some it's a bit harder to set-up and configure....

Compile apache 2.2 with the worker module and you wont notice much difference with proxies.

As long as your OS fully supports the threading.
