I ordered a DV server from Mediatemple.net and need some help. I need help installing Lighttpd (replace Apache) /w xcache and PHP5 (replace php4).

I'm completely new when it comes to SSH commands, Linux, and whatnot so please bare with me :p

BTW, PHP5 is compatible with MySQL 4.1 correct?

Installing lighttpd is simple, just follow documentation on their website. As for PHP be it a package or from source, just watch out that it was compiled with cgi support.

I'd install lighttpd seeing as that is the webserver.

If plesk is already installed then you cant install lighttpd if you install then you`ll broke your plesk installation.

I`ve webmin and lighttpd+php5+xcache+mysql5 working great.
