Lightbox Popup is Annoying

Please change the newly implemented popup to only show once per visit, not on every page load. I can't get the thing to stop and I don't wish to be a premium member at the moment. It's starting to get really annoying and making me not want to visit DP. Thank you.

Hmmmm... something is wrong. It's not supposed to even show once every visit. Just once per week at the most. Checking into it.

It does seem to be working properly (not showing more than once a week) when I test it. Are you going through some sort of caching/proxy server that may not be grabbing live versions of pages?

Do you get any sort of error or anything at the top of the screen where you see the lightbox?

I have *never* seen a Lightbox asking me to become a premium member, I didn't even know that it existed till now!

It shows no more than once a week, and if you had a certain JavaScript file cached in your browser, you would never see it, because I added the function to display it to an existing JS file instead of creating a new one. A new vBulletin version (so 4.0.4) will automatically change the JavaScript file URLs, so if it's still cached then, you will start seeing it once a week after that. :)

I saw that only once but when I tried to get to sign up page, it kicked me back to Main Forum page

LOL, maybe I’m banned from applying :)

Well, I'm replying to your post now, why should getting around forum be any different?

BTW, it always send me to login again every time I'm trying to "Reply With Quote" and when I do,
it bounced me back to index page and I have to navigate back to original post from there

Still didn't answer the question... do you have cookies enabled, or no? :)

(Most, but not all links in the forum work when you don't have cookies enabled)

I think I figured it out... your user record was missing it's associated record in the userfields table for some reason. Did the problem go away for you now?

It was showing on every pageload for me too.. But got fixed when I cleared my cache and cookies.

BTW, Shawn, care to share this Lightbox code?
