What is the lifespan of a proxy site before corporates and schools block them? Where not to list a proxy site so one's site does not get blocked? I am assuming that corporates and schools are actively referring to lists and directories to block proxy sites. Another question, what are proven marketing techniques one could use to promote a proxy site?
it depends how long your proxy been popular mostly it will tke around 6 months but my online proxy still works fine
If you're having a problem with your proxy site being blocked you can do a simple re-direct from your old proxy site to a new one so you don't lose the traffic.
Correct me if I'm wrong but to redirect a domain to another, you must call for the old domain first to redirect to new domain. If the old domain is blocked I dont think the filters will redirect the domain to a new one as well. However that trick still work if you do it with precaution. If you know your proxy is getting popular, start redirecting to save visitors. Once its blocked, its blocked IMO. Cant redirect from the same filter.
You're right I actually didn't think the whole thing out. I guess once you see you're being blocked start re-directing and try to save some of your traffic. You might lose some of your old traffic but the links to your proxy will still be live on other sites.
