@The Webby It matters not who forgives him for it is too late.He has been cursed three times by the high priestess of the three headed clown god. There is no hope for him now!
Right. So you have made the claim that I'm not a Muslim, can you prove it now? Where's the proof? I hope you know what is considered proof in Islam.
Well, At least I can't say I did not warn him.. Although he did deserve the curses for he committed the biggest sin of all by thread hijacking and making it about "ME ME ME and only ME!!!!" I don't need to prove anything mate. Your real Agenda speaks for itself. Your reluctance to acknowledge your sins, your stubborn refusal to repent, your continuous efforts to give true Muslims a bad name and disobedience of Allah are the proof. Stop hijacking the thread, obviously you don't have anything to say on topic, so get the hell out of here. Some people are trying to discuss the matter on hand. Your fakeness is not important to me or anyone else for that matter. Go and repent or continue with your agenda, I don't give a damn.. Just don't hijack the thread.
It appears that my efforts to lighten things up a bit have failed. If you guys wish to argue back and forth then have at it.But....the topic "was" about Muslims and music......remember?
To be quite frank, your last couple of posts have been nothing short of childish. Not sure if you are new in this part of the forum, but here, we argue back and forth.
@IsraeI You are lacking an essential ingredient that promotes happiness in life,a sense of humor. You are all about uptight religious fervor. You are a drag and thank God I don't know you personally.
I understand. You have no proof. Thanks for telling me. In other words, you have no proof, that's all I wanted to know man, at least you are honest that you have no proof.
Whatever makes you happy dude, now get the hell out of here so we can go back on topic.. @Linda - What do you think about Music and Islam? Any food for thought?
@The Webby I too have the honor and privilege to have Muslim friends, and when I come over they are often playing music. These are very strong devotees of Islam.So...while I do not in any way claim any expertise on this subject...if my Muslim friends feel music is compatable to their faith, then who am I to question?
Obviously, I have never met a Muslim who didn't like Music or was against it. But then I haven't met a typical radical Muslim yet.. All of them were pretty normal people.. Me and my friend Rabbit always get into argument that whether Avril is hotter than Shakira, that's technically a discussion about Music, right? And he loves Shakira and errr.. music also, he really does. I asked him about this so called prohibition of music in Islam, he said - "Dude, I don't care. If I'm going to hell for listening to Shakira, I'm fine with it..."
It's probably just what he's been taught. I know the Taliban forbid music in the past. In Somalia, radio stations were threatened into not playing music anymore. Even in the UK, I remember watching a video, it was something like 10% of parents were pulling children out of music classes, claiming it was against Islam to learn music. It's not against the Qur'an, it's verses in Hadith that create this belief. It's contradictory, in the sense that it's interpreted different by different Muslims. I think most are ok with music.
Sarah I know NZ is tucked away from the rest of the world like AU but surely this is not a serious question? I know Muslims that eat pork, drink alcohol, and listen to music. Its just that the extremists and strict Muslims tend to voice their opinions more. You only have to look at a Muslim country like Turkey to know Muslims listen to music. They have their own pop music stars. I hope you don't also think all Muslims wear the burka.
I am far from an expert on how Islam is interpreted in all countries and was genuinely fascinated by abdelatif025's claims that music wasn't allowed where he lived. He also doesn't concede that different people, races, cultures may practice their faith differently. People like that fascinate me. He must think the world is the same all over, or should be. How dull it would be, don't you think? Yet he embraces that dullness, that predictability, that sameness. I'm glad the world I experience has more depth and variety.
/me grabs popcorn an soda . /me with a mouthful of popcorn . I hope that everyone can realize that music is priceless and only a not so smart religion would ban it .
I meant, I've never met a Muslim personally. Of course there are plenty of lunatics on internet, no shortage of them around these parts. I have quite a few Muslim friends where I live. They all go to mosque on Friday and on Saturday they all rock the dance floor with babes and booze. We all eat pizzas and laugh at radical trolls, get in to arguments whether Avril is hotter than Shakira, whether Ashley Tisdale kicks Hillary Duff's butt and stuffs like that. Of course, there are some who are 'radical' extremists. There was a guy in my college, who was like - "You all are gonna burn in Hell on judgment day". He would cringe at the sight of a girl wearing a shorts and tees. I suspect his perfect masturbation material was pics of burka clad women, but we also suspect that he was totally and always high on crack. Now when rest of us are in good private jobs, driving mid size luxury sedans or SUVs around, having fun with life. He is teaching kids in a madarsa (Islamic school for kids), working for his golden ticket to heaven and 72 virgins. I don't recall him having the iPod, so probably he is against the music. I don't know. PS: Ah I see, that's 'the holy cow' guy!! I don't know about him, but I have an Algerian friend that I chat with quite frequently. And we both share the same passion for music.. She is a Muslim as well. So certainly it's not a rule in Algeria either. Probably he belongs to a radical, uber extremist family where music is not allowed. The way he talks, I wont be surprised if he is just a 12 year old. And I'm not referring to his English, I know that Algerians are fluent in French and Arabic, not English.
