Life Turnarounds from the Internet?

    Hi all!

I was just curious to ask this question.

Have any of you... say started off in a pit... with no job, etc. and turned around to the Internet and it changed your life around to get you income and to make a decent living?
I'm just starting off... (of course making nothing out of 4 months of work), and all I hear from my father is, "You know Andrea, the computer is your life. It'll get you no where. Too bad."
Oh I wish I could show him I could do something with myself on here!

I have so many skills on the Internet that I can use that I can apply my knowledge to succeed, as well as other things I need to learn.

So enough about me... what about you guys?

I think a lot of us here on this forum, like you have internet / computing skills, which we fell must be able to make us money.

I can't really give you advice, as I haven't hit upon the winning formular (well, I haven't acted upon on it) myself, but I have had some successes. I make about £150 a month from adsense, a £200 month from software sales and my wife and I make maybe £50 a month from jewellery sales. All through our websites and eBay.

But not enough to live on.

However, I do know what has the most chance of succeeding.

You need to find a topic or activity your passionate about, something you can work on. Something you could perhaps talk about and produce content. Whether this is making jewellery to sell in an online shop or creating a website where you can create content which people will want to read, depending on you.

So the key is staying power, to be able to keep producing and don't falter.

You can create all sorts of website, even online store for free.

    But they do take work.

Honestly it's bit harder if you live in USA to get a decent job online (due to the shopping power or whatnot) because I think that online jobs are not paid as much as regular jobs. If you live in a third world country like me, you have to work online and still have some other offline job to meet the ends. I'm not really long enough into all this internet business thing but what I know as a starter, the more you know the more you are worth.
Anyway I'm not making much money online but for start it's good I guess (I also had 5 months of nothing) but you got to keep trying and find the thing that you're good at to earn some money, and one day you might start a project of your own.
So good luck to you :)

    Absolutely.

I think you have to get a range of skills under your belt. Read books on general marketing will help a lot. Also know when to give up, I don't mean give up everything, but a certain task or project.

So that you can devote your time to what will work.

Also try and make some good contacts, always ask people their opinions and advice. Even if you don't follow it, you'll be best informed.

Yes surely you can do it lol........ any one who have skill can definitely make some decent living with online, but you need to work hard in beginning to make up all to work perfectly. Then you can rest on chair to watch your money flowing by online. I am not eligible to say you since i didn't made anything more from online, but i am working hard to build me a site to get some money, for that initially i begin working on my own blog.:) Hoping to get some adsense money. You too can make some out of that.

Thanks for the replies, they are uplifting to hear!

I think it does take a vast amount of knowledge for everything. I think one day, I'm going to spend all day in a book store, grab my MacBook Air and a nice cup of tea and read these forums and sit down with a general marketing book. I think once I get the ropes of everything, maybe things will turn out for the best and then I could start offering my advice to others who need some guidance.

    :)
