This thread really is not about disproving a God as it is about the authenticity of a religious book. A good point to be made would be whether the book is more important than the belief - obviously not and proves also the book has no relevance to the existence of a God and is not necessary for ones beliefs.

    etc:

Y'all never learnt the difference between'st a circle and a sphere in school? Circles are... <drum roll please> two dimensional objects! Or, in common par-lance -- flat.

WS - I'm not sure the NBA was being televised back then.

    - "circle of the earth" when standing on flat ground sounds pretty accurate for a globe, or looking at the sun which would be good enough as well - not much out of the Garden is perfect anyways.

Exactly. It, and the sun, looks like a circle so they assume it is. They were still 100% wrong though. Nobody is questioning their reasoning, they are questioning the accuracy of the contents of the bible.

I mean, if whoever wrote it got something as fundamental as that wrong, doesn't it make christians wonder what else they could have gotten wrong?

Actually, answering that is like challenging God Himself since the answer can only be given by the Creator Himself.
Religions and science does not prove anything yet since they're still both in progress as a knowledge.

Science has got a lot further though. Feel free to stop using your computer and pray for broadband if you disagree.

i would like to tell the op that the measurable universe is 10 raise to the power 55 times in radius.55 looks like small but it is in ten to the power form and a quantity no entity can imagine and remember it is measurable not exactt.so how can you think that god restricted life to earth.no in fact i think i after 100 years or more there will be something called interspace relations between planets.why do you think only earth is the one to have life.come on it was luck.a slight difference in mass at the time of big bang could have resulted in anything.dont forgot the life is not restricted to humans.tha animals which we never consider are a living entity just like us.we in general always regard as god for humans not animals.there could be a chance that become as intelligent as we are.so cant you just consider life on other planets as animals life they will have

you people should read angels and demons and to be very honest every religion does not explain everything and some are worse in my opinion but i will never name them.the only thing is that science is till now not able to show religious prospects till date.thats because science is not developed at all.shocked.einstein created more questions for people to ponder than he answered.its a long chat and i will put a thread after some time to give some relation between science and religion

Suppose you say something , which proved to be wrong in future
now how the hell does it prove that you did not exist ? crappy logic .

I talked with god the other day and he told me that he didn't exist.

He also said that you don't exist either.

I don't believe in the gods of the major religions, though I love the God being portrayed in Hindu. And I do believe in Extreterrestrials/Life outside earth. There are billions of galaxies/stars in this universe, even if you do math probability, it's impossible to say that even at 0.5% that there are no other living planets besides ours. Plain crazy.
