I wouldn't be surprised...but McCain is not going to win...just like the last time he ran, he really doesn't have that much support. A lot of the GOP thinks he is too liberal, and the rest worry about his age (even though he appears to be in great health).

I don't think he'll win either, just a what if question.

Lieberman and McCain are very alike in their attitudes towards Iraq and Islamic fundamentalism.

While Lieberman said that McCain would unite the country, the country is strongly anti Iraq war and would like a reduction in forces.

While the news about Iraq is quiet and American deaths have decreased over the last few months the costs are astronomical and growing. As the cost issue raises its head and confronts other issues it will again incease anti-Iraq commentary and awareness, IMHO.

What is interesting is that even as Ron Paul currently represents a mix of people with different attitudes about some of the various issues he represents if not all, and is creating a new coalition of sorts behind his campaign, so to do McCain and Lieberman represent a coalition of sorts of folks who are strongly against Islamic fundamentalism. (Not every one of them, eh Gtech) but many of them.

I believe this is a minority position, though.

Am I alone in this (not an unusual or uncomfortable position I admit) but does McCain seem alittle crazy to anyone?

Not just him, and not 'a little'. Of all who are running, maybe 2 or 3 don't believe we have to nuke Iran, and all but 1 or 2 believe in forced redistribution of wealth. Anti-dissent bill passed in Congress 404-6 , if it's not 'a little' crazy I don't know what is. There are trades where reason and sanity can be found, but politics is not one of them

both are just politicians of the establishment. no one in their right mind would vote for them. If they had some sense both candidates would joing the RON PAUL revolution.

McCain being "too liberal" is pretty darn laughable to me.

McCain and Lieberman are liberals of conveinence.

They are liberal when it helps their political careers.

That's as opposed to people like Paul and Huckabee, who despite a massive gap in ideology, are sometimes liberal, but always based on principles.
