Liberal Qualification: Being Ugly?

I am pickier than anyone on cars and flaws there, a car is an object and to me a woman is not. Guys who think that way will of course see a woman and beauty the same as a car, I however do not. A scratch in a car is ugly and annoying to me, a freckle in the right spot on a woman can be cute to me, something that makes me smile.

No, might as well say it, I am a horrible, horrible person..

 

Mm.. exactly. You can't equate the beauty of a car to the beauty of a woman, unless you intend on viewing both the woman and the car as objects.

 

Wow you got a complete psychological profile out of one analogy I used eh?
Well of course I separate women and cars. Wanna know what's funny? I don't even like cars and don't get guys who do! It was an analogy.

And reading my whole post you'll see that we agree everyone has their opinions. My whole point in the thread was that before I got here plastic surgery was being talked about like it was as ugly and revolting as drug abuse. Now people are saying they don't see it as ugly they just dont understand why people do it.

We need 10 female members to post pics of their cleavage, then the started of this thread creates a poll. The best boob contest and the best blog contest ... only on DP

The fascination with plastic surgery is revolting. The idea that women would want to correct their flaws by injecting plastic into their bodies IS revolting. Women who choose to go that route are not digusting, but the act is. I mean, come on... plastic is going into your BODY. How can that not be gross?

Obviously, there are worse issues out there. I just feel disheartened that women would want to drastically change their appearance this way, that's all.

 

I have had plastic surgery - implants. I didn't do it because I thought I was ugly at all, and I certainly didn't do it for a man. I just took a good thing (or two good things, in this case) and made them better. They were great before - the are GREAT now. I have no regrets, whatsoever.

Oh, and I also have standards.

Tara, I am happy that you don't have any regrets about your implants. I never meant to convey the idea that I thought women who had breast implants were stupid, disgusting -- whatever. I just don't like the act of plastic surgery itself, but I certainly don't condemn women who've had work done.

On another note, I am glad to hear that you didn't get them done because you wanted to please a man.

 

Woman and peole in general often want to change their appearance, Diets wieght lifting, push up bras, teeth whitening, everyone wants something to be bit different about themselves

I think Denise you are protesting a bit much, I think you have bit of hang up about plastic surgery and you are reflecting it onto other woman.

It's really the only reason I jumped in here. My ex used to get the blonde bimbo comments and you say it's men putting the women down when I've talked to enough women to know that women care just as much what other women think as they do what we men do. My wife tells me all the time she dresses well because of all the "haters". i.e. women who talk about you as you walk by.

Okay, look. I do not have a "hang up" about plastic surgery. Can't we just let the arguement die? We're not getting anywhere, other than running around in a biiiiiig circle, and people continue to misunderstand me.

Yes, people want to change their appearance. I just don't think plastic surgery is the way to go, but that is MY PERSONAL OPINION. Am I allowed to have one of those? If you have, or have considered, plastic surgery before -- great. I wouldn't ever have work done, but I don't hate people who have.

Like I seriously call blonde women bimbos to their face? Or at all, for that matter? Forgive me for using a stereotype, but it was relevant to the thread at the time. I certainly didn't mean to imply that everyone who has plastic surgery is blonde with big boobs and looks like a barbie doll. I can however see how that could have been misconstrued, so for that I apologize.

I think we are all having problems conveying what we deep down mean. I see where I have fucked up in spots, as well as I see where I think others have as well..
