There's so many ebooks and make money programs being sold on the premise that their competitors are scams. Is there any risk of libel when doing that?

It depends on a few things. One, is the statement truthful? If it is, then there is no libel. Two, is the statement about a specific competitor or is it a general statement? If the statement about competition being a scam is not leveled at a specific product, then there is no libel. Three, is the statement expressed as a 'fact' or as an opinion? If it is an opinion then it is not libel.

There are all sorts of laws about product libel and even reporters are not immune from lawsuits if they step over those lines. Most eBook writters wouldn't bother as the value of the eBook is usually so short lived as to make a lawsuit costly and pointless.
