I noticed that too, but I figured the other guy was taller than the average male gymnast or something. LOL. What is the average height for a male gymnast? Maybe 5'5-5'6? or is it smaller? and they can't weigh more than 145, or else those moves would be impossible. I know the girl gymnasts average around 5'1 or so. Shawn Johnson is a whopping 4'8!
Did you see the guy who went last in the greenish/blue? I think he was taller than the average gymnast. He looked like a giant compared to Horton.
I'm pretty sure that's exactly who I saw, and it explains why I was so confused when I saw Horton was 5'1.
Usain Bolt is amazing. Winning both 100m and 200m, and also creating a new world record for those 2 event.
Yep, and he jogged across the line in both of them. He has the most marketable name for a track athlete ever.
Carl Lewis is a legend, although I have heard his name brought up in illegal substance talk, I don't know the accuracy behind the reports, but it is there. Either way he did raise the bar, and was an amazing overall athlete. I hope Usain Bolt sticks around for awhile, he's fun to watch.
that's pretty amazing, track & field events are quite specialized I like to call him Insane Bolt, b/c that's how fast he is!
Yes but now you noticed that Russia comming from behind and now they have 14 Golds, just 2 behind to GB.
Did you really expect anything different?? Actually, watching the match I was starting to wonder if they were going to be able to hold on to their title.
did they not have the most enthusiasm after they won it! well, I guess track & field people go nuts too. slow start but you had to love the way they closed out the first set and started the 2nd. I know what you mean though....there were moments when CH looked pretty impressive to say the least.
People are really starting to go after Chinese gymnast He Kexin over her age. Some guy found Chinese government documents that lists her age as 14. I know rules are rules, and they should be followed, but regardless of the girls age she should keep her gold medal. If the system lets this kind of stuff happen, then whose fault is it? She has worked just as hard as everybody else, and shouldn't be punished because of her governments shady actions. I find it ridiculous that someone is willing to go out of their way to get a 14 year old girl disqualified. What do you think about the situation? Oh, and the US women soccer team won gold! Too bad the guys suck.
In one interview that I was watching they were saying that they shouldn't have a minimum age to compete. They should just choose the best athletes based on performance and ability, regardless of age. I think it's a good argument either way...
violate the rules get banned!!! why is the rule in place? regardless, you cheat it, you cheat the system and for that you should be punished.
Are they going after her because she won, or because she broke the rules? (for which I put zero blame on her). I honestly think it's because she won. If she came in 7th, or even 4th it wouldn't even matter. In fact, months before the Olympics even started, people knew about this, but absolutely nothing was done about it. I do agree that if you cheat the system there should be a punishment. However, if the system only enforces the rules when it feels, then I think it's a double standard.
