Let's make an article marketing plan

As many people suggest, I have found article marketing to be a valuable method to building backlinks. One of the keys to success in any business is to get the most value out of your time and effort. More bang for your buck, if you will. With that said, what is the drawback to submitting the same article to different directories if the purpose of the articles are Not to drive traffic? You still get the backlinks. Google will filter the duplicates in there search results but if you aren't using the articles for traffic, I can't see how this is a big deal.

Also, does anyone have experience with a submission service like submityourarticle.com? I could write more articles if it didn't take as long to submit them. Whether I spin the articles or not, the submission process takes time.

Now time for more opinions. Making a squidoo lens with an article also gives backlinks. Would you consider these links as valuable as ideamarketers or goarticles backlinks?

Do you post your articles on blogs of your own?

I guess what I'm searching for is a method to my madness...a plan.

You have one article to get the most use out of in as little time as possible. What would you do with this article??

Squidoo links aren't as valuable as they once were now that they are no-follow. Personally, I find Hubpages and a few other sources to be more valuable over time.

Personally, my article marketing plan is pretty simple. I write 2 articles per day. I submit to about 5 directories on my own, these include EZA/Buzzle, Go, ArticleBase...it changes slightly based on the topic, but you get the idea.

When I have some spare time, or over the weekend etc...I'll use a submitter to send these same articles to the thousands of second rate directories. If I was really stuck for time, which I sometimes can be, I skip this part as these links are nice in terms of numbers, but are seriously lacking in terms of quality.

I think if you live by the 80/20 rule you should be in good shape.

They should be, considering the fact that they're actually a strong complementary solution; or, at least, they should prove valuable in the long run.
