OK. There's this new extension called "stumble upon" and it is a web site rating service. It's becoming very popular. Let's give DP a plug by installing it on our FF browser and clicking on the "I like it" icon. If you love DP you will do this! I have! Col
Great have used it many times but DP'ers take care if you do it for sending traffic to your own site you need bandwidth DP has the bandwidth no problems
has anyone actually ever gotten decent traffic from them? something like digg would make a difference, but can't see that doing it really. though digg would be a small increase compared to DP's regular traffic, I'm guessing.
On my blog I get hits from Stumble Upon actually. It's not a bad resource. But I doubt it'll make any noticable impact on DP.
About a dozen of my sites are seeing regular traffic referrals from them. It's all good from what I am seeing. Col
yeah, that's what I meant, really. I know it can be a source of traffic, but I don't see it as a source of significant traffic for highly traffic sites. such a site may get a huge surge of traffic from SU (relative to SU's terms) and not even notice it on a site like DP... and even sites smaller than DP. most sites out there, though, will almost always recognize a slashdot or front-page digg when it happens. I had a site getting 50,000 unique visitors a day. it got dugg, the server crashed and stopped accepting connections... it was at 120,000 unique visitors at that time. and it would've been even higher if the server could've handled it. traffic on that level most people notice.
Put it this way. Stumble Upon is fairly new. People will get hold of it, like it and spread the news about it. This will grow because it is easy to use. Col
