Let's discuss the best link exchange sites out there

    Hi all,

I'm on the hunt for a solid link exchange website that allows me to open an account, enter my link and URL information, and then ONLY allows relevant websites the ability to respond. I want to do exchanges manually, no software. And I want to be able to find details such as indexing, re-directs, and no follows with little or no effort.

I've done a lot of searching on this and can't seem to find something that is clean and provides steller experiences. The last one I used was $9.99 a year and had a great interface, but I was getting spammed every day with link requests for unrelated websites. I can't remember which one it was unfortunately so I can't post it here.

Do you use link exchange websites like this? Which ones do you use? If you'll elaborate a bit on your experiences I'll make sure and give you some green rep for your time and effort in helping me out.

I'm willing to pay a few bucks if the results are worth it. Free sites are cool too, but I understand that a lot of free sites are free for a reason. ;)

Thanks in advance for any assistance you may have on the topic at hand.

    Regards,
    Eric

I stay away from such sites. What I do is I have a submit link on my own site so people submit their links directly at mine.

i use link2me.com too and i like the system. you get all the details of the exchange (the page where your link will be placed, alexa and google pr, etc)

but i still recieve some non related request, are you sure they can be stoped in a paid system? (maybe if you are restricted to send requests just to sites from the same category with you?)

    Hi zman,

I have had a truly wonderful experience for the last 4 years using Linksmanager.com. For the sake of not double posting, you can read more about my experience with them on this thread in this Forum.

Our Directory is rather large and diverse, however when it was smaller LinksManager was also great for only allowing like-minded web sites to solicit reciprocal links. They do that through their partner site LinkPartners.com. YOU handle all of the email requests. It's a completely manual and customizable platform.

If any non related sites do slip by, they can easily be deleted at a glance using your control panel. This is not a program but a web-based link management editor. You can set your link partner preferences as well, so that only relevant websites request a link exchange. I think they still offer a free 30 day trial which is the way I started out, so you'd have nothing to lose checking it out.

I forgot: The cost for the service for a 'normal' link directory is 19.95 per month. I pay 49.95 as our Directory has a HUGE amount of categories and I have a few extra services and a separate payment agreement with them. I must tell you that less than $50 bucks a month is a pittance compared to the traffic, SERPS and quality link exchanges that I've received over the past 6 years.

    Hope that helps a bit!

I also forgot to mention, for what ever it's worth, that Linksmanager has a blacklist feature. The blacklist is a list of keywords which will be compared against the sitename, URL, description, and email address fields when a visitor submits a new link to your account. If a visitor tries to submit a site that matches a blacklisted keyword, they will receive an error message and the link will never be entered into your Approve/Delete database.

Link Queen at Offsite Optimization has proven to be advantageous! Got a referral from a friend to go there and check it out - this chick really knows her stuff. I made a few trades with her, and I definately got the better end of the deal - really effective links for my site! It was a pleasure doing business with her and will be back for more!

    Check it out: www.offsiteoptimization.info

I used the free version of link market and got spammed by unrelated sites. I am interested to find one too. I will check out some of them mentioned here and let you know.

linksmanager blows away all the competition, there really is no comparsion

you can block all the unrelated links, and they don't allow spammy sites to even join

which is a two edged sword because sometimes they won't let my sites in

Basically if your site screams affiliate, or is smothered in adsense you won't get in.

plus when you use it , it seems proffessional developed not hobed togather by the cheapest programers availiable, they have real support, and they actually check links, which although not 100% accurate blows away any other service
