Even your theory is random! random numbers in algorithms are either used for noise or to create data when we don't have real data. They have the real data (BL's) and they don't need noise because noise is to be contented with since it gives crappier outputs. You probably mean they take a sample of the backlinks to lower the complexity and iterations but I doubt they lack resources especially for the public PR (4 months)
I haven't learned any lessons from this PR update, because I haven't seen any changes on any of my sites. This thread may be a bit premature. It is going to take at least a few more days for this to finish.
When they give out such great numbers, it's hard to believe that there wrong until we see it for our selves. So NOW we all have seen the light and agree that PR scripts are crummy!!! grrrr!!! I want my PR 7, yet Google droped it from PR 3 to a PR 2!!
Please try to share your experiments and results of page ranks My lesson is that most significant factor of Page Rank is itself website value. How unique it is ..... and who are linking to it higher PR website with relevancey to contents or not.
============================= No we are sure PR has been updated. ============================= So what lessons you have learned in this update?
From my personal experience.... 4 of my websites saw no PR changes (they already had existing PR). My new website saw a PR increase from 0 to 3. We had a lot of high PR links pointing to our directory and I know ALIVE DIRECTORY did as well - and we saw no increase on our PR and alive saw a 4 I think. Not sure what you can conclude by this but something fishy occurred w/ this recent PR udpate. Let's try this theory out... The recent update had more impact on new websites rather than existing websites. Now who can aid to this theory? Did your exisitng websites with PR gain or lose PR? Now how about your new websites? Did they see PR gains?
Are you guys sure this id 'just' an PR update? Mostly when a PR updates I see no changes in the serps, now they are quite unstable, see a lot of KW Im tracking going from top 10 positions to nowhere and back.
I don't know...but I guess...It is more about content which leads to high PR than Links. I have found that the site which have very good content, no backlink with 30-40 pages got PR5 and a site with copied articles having more than 70 pages, 15 backlinks got PR3. (I am seeing PR regular, it seems to be static now) I guess...now a days...quality content plays an effective role in PageRank. If it is than the big famous mathematical formula for PR has taken a big change. -
I am sure.... PageRank is not calculated with links only. NO... Okay, let us use a new domain, having single page with no outgoing/incoming links and with quality content. An experiment.... I am dead sure in six months or so it will get indexed and get some PR (PR1 - PR3) depending on quality of content and HTML design simplicity. In fact, I have seen it ... but don't rem where, so I can't give you a link to such page. -
if you have so many BLs and your PR is 2, I think your site was blacklisted/deindexed at some point or you have changed thematic so some of your BLs are not counted
Well, from what I see, I'm learning that high PR links are to get cheaper 'cause they're pretty useless.. My 2 cents opinion
- Submission in Google - Google Sitemap - Yahoo Sitemap And after all Google's own capability to do it without any link or and submissions.
