    Definately PR predators (predictors) proved to be wrong.

    I got good results. My PR is increased by 3

    The lesson I learned are ....."Results in search engines through ethical seo techniques are bit slow but steady" and

    "PageRank leads to good SERPs results in two ways-"
    1. By giving worth to site
    2. and by helping gaining backlinks by reciprocal link exchange

    I've notcied the same thing. The PR they are giving us is very low for what it should be. I don't think this was a PR update, at least not a full one, or they screwed up. It hasn't even propagated to toolbar yet, it should have been by this time.

    Maybe all the predictors are right... Maybe Google accidentally divided all our PR by 2. :)

    Or just split the rollout up...

    I have another post in that thread that kinda relates...

    But it is really too early to learn anything, or to draw true conclusions. In fact, we may never be able to... until Google goes back to normal behavior, everything we know is now useless.

    And when it does, we may have to completely change our thinking and tactics.

    What have I learned? — If you want a good laugh, believe in the various PR tools and PR prediction tools. I've been showing 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 for the same website, depending on which tool and/or list of DCs I'm currently fixated on. Ease up, Jim ... breathe ... there is a life outside of websites and PageRank.

    Jim, go with the tried and true - the McDar QuickCheck Datacenter Tool. That gal is a genius, nothing else compares for checking current data.

    But still, no guarantees on the heart attack... that would be Google's fault.

    I love Mcdars. The tools takes takes a bit longer to run, but the information (BL & PR per DC) is much more valueable.

    Well what I am personally seeing right now on some older sites are.

    2 DC's showing old data (from last update) and 3 DC's showing an updated PR which is much higher.

    I prefer to look at the new ones :)

    Even the toolbar is acting a bit wonky. I just saw my site go from PR4 to PR5, and the next time I check, it says PageRank not available. This is with the Google Toolbar for Firefox extension.

    My new site, www.LaptopGamers.com went from PR0 to PR5. It's been up for a little over a month.

    My site (www)muvids.com went from PR0 to PR3. It's been up for 4 weeks now. I only got one reciprocal link, should've gotten more I guess.

    Um, you guys are in the wrong thread. Read the title. This is the 'What did you learn' thread, not the How is your PR? thread.

    You needed a PR update to realize that? I have told you that a million times.

    No one can predict PR.

    lol... funny how everyone feels the need to post their new PR, as if anyone of us cared about it

    I learned that everything I thought I had understood of PR calculating is WRONG.

    I thought incoming backlinks == +PR, but obviously it somewhat isn't all that true. I've added 1,000's of BLs over the past 6 months and was expecting something more towards a PR6, but have a PR2 on a site that's almost 2 years old. Almost all links linking to me are PR4+, many being PR5's., and some PR6's and 7's.

    So yea, I can say PR is UNPREDICTABLE, but the PR Prediction tools aren't our problem.... as they give us some hope... :) and something to look forward to for upcoming updates. They're there for entertainment purposes only.

    PR algo could have hundreds of variables in it. Even more, they could even use some kind of random number in the formula. How could you predict a random value?

    PR prediction tools are for newbies and for people trying to catch newbies when selling their sites with speeches like "PR is predicted to go to PR8 in the next update! get it now when it is a PR1 and really cheap!"

    Sweet.

    The prediction tools were not totally off...:)

    PR1 --> PR5
    PR0 --> PR4
    PRO --> PR3

    Pretty happy ;)
