It was a set-up. Was not a real hacker. The pretend hacker tried to make the college student confess.
The whole situation is real. But the hacker isn't. A person acted like a hacker to weed out people like the college student.
I was really expecting it to be about him getting his id stolen or something. Took a good turn there in the end, lol.
