Hi people, Does any1 find they have higher revenue and CTR with less adsense content blocks ?? For example 1 or 2 well positioned ad blocks works better then stuffing your page with every adsense product you can find ?? Is the CPC lower if you have more adsense ads on you page ?? For example google send the highest CPC ads to your website so if you have to many ad blocks are you surely diluting your CPC ?? Just some thoughts.. Thanks !
Well, technically, the more ads you show will result in greater CTR, however, it is often true that less ads result in higher cpc. Its a fine balance.
and the highest paying adds are always shown in the top add blocks. So less can definately be more $ wise. I have experimented with this a lot on my sites and for some pages less adds was better, for others more adds was better. It's always the same trick with ad placements: experiment, experiment, experiment!
Agree on that. I have been experimenting with adsense ad placements, dimensions and number of units. I saw that one or two units in a page earned me more in a month than 3 + referrals or link units.
OK, I also asked myself this question. Here's some posts I've put on one of my sites about AdSense experiment with Less is More Also think about optimizing ads format for ex 120x600 instead of 160x600 which puts only 4 ads instead of 5, so, a bit more expensive. Choose ads that will force displaying less ads than other formats.
You should do it proportion wise.. less content, less units. More content.. you may put more content, generally: do not overwhelm your visitors with ads.
My experience is that one really well placed ad block on a page can generate more revenue for me than two ad blocks on the page. I think it really depends though.
if you publish 3 unit ads then you have a greater chance of the visitor to find something different that may interest him. If you have only one then chances are less, however make sure that the same ads do not appear in two different units ads of your adsense; this means you have already to much ads.
