200% increase for me. Last month was a disaster, but this month has been excellent in terms of CPC and CTR.
Agreed. Let me explain exactly why we are all seeing a decrease in revenue but not necessarily a decrease in clicks. Since the economy is in such bad shape, firms are cutting ad spending. This includes ad spending through adwords. What this means is that there is LESS COMPETITION bidding in the keyword auctions. This means that firms can get the same keywords as before, but at a lower price per click. Lower price per click means a lower payout for the publishers for each click on those ads. So you can see, you still get same overall CTR, but the eCPM will be lower. The best advice is to diversify, as someone mentioned earlier.
There can be many reasons for this not just a downturn in the economy. In fact the opposite tends to happen as companies advertise more to increase their market share in an attempt to hedge out the competition. What tends to happen is that someone makes a post and people in the same situation tend to post agreeable replies. If I made a post about a site getting less traffic I bet I would bet loads of replies agreeing with me but I bet there are many more sites that are getting more traffic. Sure there are general trends so why not put in that extra effort to counteract these losses then when the trend reverses you will be in an even stronger position.
I dont see much of a diffrence in the adsense earning just my online revenue has droped such as less php coding jobs.
eCPM has dropped by $1.5 this month to last. But my earnings have doubled. More traffic = More Moolah.
My traffic is on the up but my earnings are on the way down..... People are spending a LOT less with Adwords.
well guys, real business are down now, and adsense ofcourse was very slow this year. and now it is also touching it feet. Adsense Guru
As stated in other threads, I have not noticed any difference at all. However my affiliate earnings have dropped drastically over the last few months, especially in the last month.
Lol, my adsense account is full of webs, i only used it to get the first payment which took hundreds of years, then i decided i didnt want to waste my time waiting for those pennies (i make the ratio money/time) and i found out a dog pissing wins more Actually this is the same as any other ad network, the ones winning are never the ones advertising (advertisers = cattle, you eat grass for a while, then when you get fat they chop you ).
My site had a fairly constant EPC for about 2.5 years. Then, this summer epc started to fall... still falling. Now it is about 30% of 'normal'. CTR has dropped too after 2.5 years.. ctr is down about 30%. Combine those two drop-offs in percents and you see where I'm at - it isn't pretty.
This is about the 3rd thread here now on this topic. Advertisers are bidding lower on KWs so we all get paid less .... but on a positive note guys: that also means you can buy them cheaper in Adwords now ;-)
Down by something like 50%, but I must say last month was the best month ever, so to compare it with a normal month, it's more like -25%.
Google reported this afternoon their 3rd quarter earnings. They exceeded the expectations $4.96 EPS So far they are not affected by the slowdown in the economy for both google.com and their network (adsense) I see no explanation to the decline of the eCPM this week.
Yes, me as well. Then I changed my ads from "text only" to the default (text and images) and the income went back up. Bidders have to pay more for images that take up the entire ad unit, over let's say "3 text ads", as long as you still get the clicks. And as far as this messed up economy goes...all income seems to be dropping.
another record-low Adsense day for me.. Good thing my earnings are diversified so it does not hurt quite so bad..
