Here is my own observed with Yahoo. :) Read it and consider yourself since I am not sure they are 100% corrected.

    1. Yahoo does prefer websites with a lot of content pages. If site A has 5,000 keywords content contained in a single page, while site B has five pages content, contained 1,000 words each. Yahoo will prefer with site B more than site A.

    2. Yahoo does rely too much with old on-page factors. The old on-page strategy seems like still working with Yahoo for now. These old stuff like - "Keyword Density" / "Keyword Placement" are still work with Yahoo while not with Google and Bing.

    3. Yahoo does prefer site with good internal linking and careless on external linking. - I do not think this one was true since Yahoo should rely more on external link instead of internal linking structure, which is easily to be manipulated. However, I have done some personal test bed and found this one is true somehow. Not every case it works but at least 60% do the tricks.

People tend not to write about the yahoo algorithm because most people (less intelligent people I admit) care only about optimising for google and improving their google rankings. However, optimisation is similar for all search engines though different SE's give more or less value to differnet factors.

IMO, is far easier to rank well on Yahoo than on Google. All you have to do is respect all white hat SEO techniques and you will achieve to a good Yahoo ranking and a mediocre Google ranking :)

Well, that's your opinion. And my opinion is opposite of what you think. It only depends on your strategies in marketing.

In terms of search engines, Yahoo is becoming less and less relevant each day. What it needs is a complete rejuvenation in its search engine platform.

In my experience I fully agree with this point.
And if you frequently update your website, you will get a better ranking.

Yahoo seems to jump up and down. One week good serp ranking, the next it's down. The following week or so up again. I do not do very much backlinking or making posts even. I am lucky if I have time to make 1 or 2 new posts per week, and very few backlinks maybe 5 to 20. Other than that no major changes to site or content. One of these days I will play around with yahoo and bing optimizing more.

But if you don't know, I'm loyal at Yahoo SE before, but not now. Google gives the best results in me.

I do not believe that Yahoo's algorythum is really all that powerful, compared to google and Bing I think yahoo is no match. I mean really look at yahoo. It has a lot of "stuff" per square inch of page. I guess where they lack in algorythum they make up for in extreme content. Look at google, very powerful search engine and less junk to cloud that fact!

Well, I'm much concerned with Bing than Yahoo. Bings acts like a little Google. Bing will definitely go with the Google's steps.
