Will it matter, in Google's seo algorithm, if I renew my domain for the next 2 years instead of 1 year? Hope someone could explain it well here.
Well no, it does not matter. However if you want look at it another way, because of the importance of domain age, and because of all the hard work you will put it, what is the point of NOT getting the domain for 2 years?
well, there are times when you are financially constrained and you postpone the renewal for a longer term and you settle for just a year. i just want to know the standpoint of seo experts.
What's your plan for your site? If you're just thinking about flipping, then go for 1 year and don't worry about domain age. If not, might as well go for 2 years.
Hi, IMHO it will not have a great impact on Seo perspective but I'm sure it will be counted as one factor. Be sure to make your site relevant to your targeted keywords then build links around it.
it doesn't really matter but if the hosting require you to renew 2 year you should do it or change domain host.
There are hundreds of factors that go into Google's algorithm. A small factor would be how long you choose to register your domain for. For example, a newly registered domain may seem "fly-by-night" with a one year registration as opposed to a domain registered for 5-10 years. Is this large enough to have any impact? who knows... but always take into account variable change.
Has Google confirmed that the length of registration is a factor that they consider, or is this speculation?
I doubt length of prepaid registration has any impact. Many site owners plan to keep their domains indefinitely, but some will auto-renew every year, while others will prepay 10 years in advance. Both are the same thing really.
