Just saw this, and I'm really saddened. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26913988 A titan of acting and directing, and a good human being. I used to live fairly close to his home, in the "quiet corner" of CT. He'll be missed.
Paul Newman was a good guy. RIP. I urge everyone to buy some Newman's Own, cook up some quality pasta, open a bottle of red, and sit down and watch The Sting.
R I P. The sale of his own brand of salad dressing, pasta sauce etc has donated hundreds of millions to charity.
The racing community is mourning his death as well. Some of his notable racing wins were the 1979 class win at 24 hours of Le Mans and 2nd place overall and a class win at the 24 hours of Daytona in 1995 at the age of 70. http://www.grand-am.com/rolex/news/index.cfm?cid=19452 http://www.americanlemans.com/News/Article.aspx?ID=4819
It is sad when I heard he died from my friend told me over the phone when I was in Vermont. He is a great actor. Few great actors passed away in this year.
