I was about to buy line rider .com, when I found out a company called inxile bought the rights to the game http://official-linerider.com/news.html Correct me if I"m wrong, but now the rights has been transfered, doesn't the owner of line rider. com have the potential to face lawsuit? I just talked to him, and he said the site will only increase in value and the company will be interested in it (as in buy it).
But they have the name "Line Rider", wouldn't that mean they have the potential to be sued due to copywrite infridgements?
I didn't write "And copywritten != copyright!" just to decorate my post. And as I said, they aren't in the same business.
Icheb is correcting your spelling: copywrite = writing copy and copyright = the right to make copies. You are asking about copyrighting, not copywriting. As for Line Rider, it really depends on the deal that the creator of the game made, whether he sold exclusive rights or not. If linerider.com is currently hosting the game with permission from the copyright holder, it shouldn't be an issue to ask the game's creator what the status is.
