I got a question concerning a possible scenario... Considering I got a "how-to" content site... submissions to this site is all reviewed for quality... Then here comes a service provider let's say a ghostwriter who writes for clients. When the writer's client submitted the article to me but then I decided to reject it since it has so many issues not just promotional content but also low quality stuffs discussed.... etc... The buyer of the article got back to the writer and said he wants a refund for a low quality article... the writer then threatens me to be responsible for his business fall if ever his business falls because of me (at guruhowto.com) rejecting his work submitted by his client who bought it. I hope you are not confused by my confusing story hehehe Now, the question... can the ghostwriter actually complain to the court legally about me rejecting his/her work which lead to the refund from his/her customer... or possible lead to the fall of his/her business? What do you think...
He can complain all he wants, but you have the right to reject any work which is unsuitable, though you are much better off if you have a visible TOS to that effect. I would take a moment to politely review the unsuitable material, list the points that could, if changed, lead to acceptance, and archive it in case he comes at you with a spurious defamation suit. He is just angry and will likely not sue, but avoid making enemies if you can.
lol... you are safe, we reject articles daily. We even ban writers for poor quality and we get similar threats.
