There are number videos on Youtube etc, that would fit in well with some of the topics on some of my niche blogs. Many of this videos have been uploaded to sites such as Youtube by someone other than who holds the copyright. My sites aren't Warez sites/TV Link sites, just sites about particular narrow niches were this content could add to the site. Up to this point I have only embedded and linked to videos uploaded by the copyright holder. Am I being to cautious in my approach? And if I am what legal concerns would be raised by say embedding a video on particular topic in a blog post. I want to stay on the right side of Copyright law as intend for these sites be up and gaining traffic for the foreseeable future.
Best of luck with answering this one. My guess is that you aren't worth the effort to sue. They will go after google.
I would suggest don't use any copyright stuff, stay clear because in Law you can also be held fully accountable as the ones who uploaded it on YouTube in the first place. Furthermore, when those who do hold the "right" start action against those before you, then adding one more egg to the basket will not effect them.
