Our company create a new website, and we gave the task of content to a writer, gave him the example site to get content from and re-write it... he didn't re-write it well, after we launch the website, we get an email from the attorney of the company. he send also a copy to :

    Email i recieeve :

As you also know, COMPANY NAME maintains a website at WEBSITE NAME. This website carries a copyright notice and consists of original material created by COMPANY NAME. It has recently come to our attention that your website at SITE NAME copied considerable portions of COMPANY NAME website. In particular, the following pages copied materials from COMPANY NAME website. This copying violates various state and federal laws; among other things, it constitutes willful copyright infringement under federal law and is punishable as an unfair business practice under Tennessee law. It is also in direct violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) which sets statutory damages between $500 and $20,000 per copyrighted work infringed.

    1. The copyrighted work at issue is the text that appears on:
(Screen shots of each infringement have been captured)

and they gave me the list

Advice what steps i should do, and what will happen now ???

You had better immediately take down all the content mentioned in the DMCA. You will then need to wait and see if the company decides to pursue it further.

Merely hosting "offshore" does not protect you.

Is your site hosted in TN? Is your business located in TN? If not than the threat about the unfair business wouldn't apply to you as you do not fall under the state of TN's jurisdiction. However, mjewel is right. Take that stuff down immediately.

Hire a different person, one which won't violate copyright laws, and try again.
