Legal issue, is this copyright infringment?

I recently helped a friend write some content for a website. He needed a Terms and Conditions and we wrote it by basing it off the Ts & Cs of another (similar) site. It is not a direct copy at all, but they are similar.

Is this some kind of a legal issue?

If he has re-written it in his own words and doesn't look too similar to the Terms and Conditions from the other website then you shouldn't worry.

    Ah, cheers.

I Google searched a few of the phrases and they appear to be used by a lot of people - so I don't think I am alone, nor that the website in question wrote it themselves in the first place!

    Thanks.

copyright covers the phrases you use, not the concepts. As long as the phrasing was different, you should be ok.

Seems to be an industry standard these days.
