Has anyone ever tried to file a class action lawsuit against godaddy and their crappy service? I wish the government would get involved and look into this group of criminals. I think they do this intentionall so that they can try to sell anyone who gets more than 100/hits a day a dedicated server. ARRRRRRrrrrrrghhh!!!!

I'm sure they have a air tight TOS, and I've never heard of anyone taking legal action.

Only thing GoDaddy is good for is domain selling, all their other services (including support) are very bad...

I've never tried their hosting services but have heard the very same thing from many. I will also agree that their domain services aren't bad, I've got a few domains there and have not experienced any problems with regards to that.

Was this issue having to do with CPU/other resource restrictions?

Yeah, i try to keep domain sales and hosting packages separate :) hehe. I've been a HUGE fan of Hostgator for my hosting...but stick to the $7 domains from GoDaddy

Yes and the only reason they have a limited number of staff is because they are money hungry though again a lot of people are XD

    Think about it.

Godaddy sells domain names for $1.99
Domain names cost $3 or more wholesale
Most of us that are not ICANN registrars pay upwards of $10 per domain

In other words, its a loss leader. Like a great many of their services.
Its a brilliant marketing concept, and nothing new in any industry.

They dump a product at a loss in the hopes that they will make it up by selling you value added services, larger services, or just in sheer volume. So far, it would appear its been working.

The moral here is that you get what you are paying for. If you can come back and tell me that you are paying $500 or more per month for whatever it is you are complaining about, I'll start the class action myself.
If not, then I would suggest doing what others said, either do not use them, or PAY FOR WHAT YOU WANT TO GET!!!

I would recommend not using Godaddy.

Thing about them is they are very popular, but it does not necessarily mean they have great service... they just make some things cheaper. And to be honest with you, I think they are only good for domain names.

Isn't this the problem with all hosting companies offering a shared plan. All hosting companies offering unlimited bandwidth and unlimited hosting space place a condition in the terms of service that you may not exceed a certain CPU usage, so they eventually know that unlimited is really limited.
I am currently using Grid Hosting on Go daddy, no problems so far. The only problem i might face in the future is the limited bandwidth, so i will have to buy extra bandwidth...
Any feedback from Grid Hosting in Go Daddy?

The real problem is that we do only look at well ranked hosting companies thought Google ;) We all do webmastering since we are talking about this and we steal have a problem like Internet newbies and like we never heard about SEO THAT CAN MAKE MAGIC !
Even if Godaddy is well ranked, its one of the worst hosting companies all over the Net. Why you just don't get a look at new hosting companies that are perfect and created since one or two years ago, they are new, and they want success, then they are certainly working hard to satisfy their clients. I'm not here to promote anything, but I have been with a host called kvchosting since a year now, they have been working from 2 years (2008) and really until now no scam and no one posted any bad review about them. They always fix my problems and they are the cheapest, and how I found them ? By giving some trust to new hosting companies ;)

They tried to seize my domain back in 2004 because of the content I had on my website, and they refused to give it back, I contacted my lawyer he sent legal action to them, within 48 hours they responded back to me telling me to move my domain to another registrar.

Godaddy just plain sucks, I'd never use them in my entire life.
