It was becoming so diffficult for me to talk to people in IM and email, because my right hand was in constant pain. Sometimes on IM I would tell people, I have to stop chatting now, because it hurts to talk to you. I have reversed the buttons on my mouse and am now using the mouse with my left hand. First, I think this is going to help reduce the pain in my right forearm. Second, my right hand has always been the weaker hand in terms of typing speed, because I take it off the keyboard, so my fingers don't stay over the keys and "know" there position as well, so I hope this will help in the regard too. Can anyone else "feel my pain"?
I feel the Pain a little bit. But Never thought of ideas like yours It is a nice Idea. I chat for about 16 hrs. a day with my friends someone or the other The Idea used by you would help you in my view
Oh dear, sounds like CTS (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome) Have you tried using one of those cushioned wrist supports? They are quite helpful in taking the strain off your wrist.
Syndrome Causes some Decrease in movement along with pain I suppose dvduval has only the pain which can be common for many people.
Thats interesting (reversing the buttons) you can do that in CP right?? I suppose you could just remember which button is which when using it w/your left hand.......(W/o changing them) Good for you my friend, good luck! Dude111
I rest my mouse arm on a book, which helps immensely: sometimes it's lengthwise, sometimes not, depends on the pain. A splint at night helps - if I can manage not to take it off and throw it across the room in my sleep, as well as keeping your lower arm on a pillow when sleeping. I also do a little stretching exercise. Let's see if I can explain it. I hold my right hand up, fingers facing left. Then gently but firmly with my fingers still straight, push my hand down towards the inside of my arm. This always helps me.
Im trying it now for the hell of it with my left hand (Other than remembering that the left button is what i should press,it seems OK)
I tried special pads alreadys, and it doesn't work. Using the mouse with my left hand is working pretty good. I'm still trying to minimize use right now, which means I'm trying to spend a couple less hours online each day as well til my right arm heals. I got a massage today too.
Well dvduval.......... Congrats for your 1000 posts you completed. I am congratulating here. Well done. U took a lot of pain in reaching the landmark
i think you will be comfortable right-hand mouse finally. At least you will not worry if the mouse for left-hand mouse break and finding the new one.
