A guy was having me design him a logo. We agreed a fee and I started work on this. After about 4 different designs he said he didnt need a logo.

    I received no payment.

Would it be fair of me to leave negative iTrader?

This also happened with me. I wrote 10 articles and guy said I don't need them. He said I'll not use them but all my effort is wasted. Don't really know can we give him negative iTrader or not.

Maybe a negative rep would do for this..

Yes you could, but you'll come across situations like that very often.
That's the risk you take when you do business on forums :/

if you agreed to a fee and have gone farward to the completion of task. then it would be unfair from the guy to step out and say I don't need it.

i agree to you leave him a negative iTrade...

    go ahead

You should leave a negative itrader because he didn't do what you two had agreed upon

Until you actually give him the work he can change his mind. That is the nature of business. I can go into a store and load up cart with groceries, walk up to the check out and then change my mind and leave the groceries there. Sure, this is an inconvenience for the people who work there, but until the buyer turns over his money they are allowed to change their mind.

On the other hand, in your case, I wouldn't begin to write or create any designs until I have recieved at least half. When you are making a deal, ask for half up front and half when completed. I have paid a few different people to do some work for me in here and I'm sorry to say that a couple of them gave me work that my 3 year old could have done. (of course I paid anyway because I hate confrontation) Do you think if you give someone a product that they don't like and can't use they should have to pay? NO.

I think that you must pm him and tell him that you will leave a negative itrader if he don't pay you at least the half money that you decide. If he don't respond just leave a negative itrader....

    Completely fair, yes.
It's a sad fact that if you do - even though I consider you to be in the right - the other party could hit you back with the same. We have some sackless traders here at DP.
